Several months ago, I shared tips on reading the Bible cover-to-cover in 90 days and how much I’ve enjoyed that time in the Word. It’s fast reading, but the practices and tools I shared make the time fruitful.
For 2026, I’m slowing things down and following a Bible in a year reading plan. Taking the year to read will allow for more reflection time and a deeper dive into God’s Word. My Mom and I were chatting about it, and I’m thrilled she’ll be my reading partner.
What happened after our convo makes me chuckle. I just can’t help it. Yep—it got me thinking about ways I could make this a lovely gift for her and for anyone!
Here’s the result of my brainstorming session—a thoughtful Bible reading gift bundle that will make the recipient feel extra special.

Why It’s A Great Gift Option
Helping someone find goodness and truth by studying God’s Word is a gift with everlasting returns. More than just a historical record, the written Word is alive and active. As Hebrews 4:12 states, “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” I cannot think of a better gift!

What To Buy
• BIBLE: The options seem endless when it comes to Bible cover designs and features. Choose one that you think will meet the person’s current needs or will fit their style preferences. My favorite Bible for gifting is the ESV Illuminated Bible. With three cover options, this Bible features over 500 hand-lettered gold-ink illustrations by renowned artist Dana Tanamachi. The illustrations are stunning! The ESV Bible translation is also quite popular due to its accuracy and readability, making it a great choice.
• BIBLE READING TRACKER STICKER: This adorable Bible Reading Tracker Sticker is sure to delight! The colorable sticker design can fit seamlessly inside a Bible or journal, and features a beautiful bookshelf illustration with each book of the Bible. The person you gift this to will have fun coloring in each book upon completion. Plus, having a visual of all the books of the Bible they’ve read will become a nice keepsake. Not the coloring/creative type? No worries! This Etsy seller’s Bible Study Tracker Stickers are a perfect alternative.
• JOURNAL: A journal for note-taking is an easy gift choice here. Adding a handwritten prayer on the inside cover will give it a very thoughtful touch. I also like the idea of including a prayer journal with the gift. The VMP 6-month Compose Prayer Journals provide space for jotting down prayer requests and answered prayers while reading God’s Word. For someone who prefers art journaling to writing, the Bible Project Read Scripture Book is a nice gift item to add.
• MEMORY VERSE CARDS: Blank memory verse cards are a great addition to this Bible reading gift bundle. It will give the recipient a beautiful way to note Bible verses they want to remember. I think E. Frances’ Navy Bow Little Notes is a darling choice since bows are a symbol of love and thoughtfulness. If you want the gift to center around a specific topic, then choose a themed Scripture card set. Check out the ones from She Reads Truth, Salt & Hart, or Emily Lex Studio.
• BIBLE READING PLAN: There are many Bible reading plan templates available online for printing. You can choose one based on a specific completion time (90 days, 1 year, 2 years, etc.) or reading order (cover-to-cover, chronological, etc.). The Daily Grace Co’s Prayer Calendar has two reading plan checklists and space for monthly journaling.

A Few Helpful Gifting Tips
- The ESV Illuminated Scripture Journals offer a great budget-friendly option. They are individual books of the Bible with the Bible text, space for journaling, and the same lovely illustrations by Dana Tanamachi. Quick picks for me would be the Book of Psalms, Proverbs, or Romans.
- You can always add more personal touches to the gift—include a playlist or a list of your favorite podcast episodes that explain biblical themes.
- Check in with the person you gifted this to and see how their time in the Word is going. Make note of any Bible verses shared. Then, create lock screens or other keepsakes for future gifting or thoughtful gestures.
